AMS Students Take a Deep Dive into Literature for Battle of the Books
On Friday, January 17th, to close out the first half of the year Anderson Middle School 8th graders tested their book knowledge in the annual Battle of the Books competition. Using a tournament style bracket, students competed in teams and were asked detailed questions about books they have read so far this year. As part of their answers, students had to identify the title of the book and the author.
After multiple rounds of the Battle, Team “Shine Bright Like a Diamond” (Riley Durany, Maddy King, and Lola Young) squared off against Team “Fluffy Rainbow Unicorns” (Lucy Showler and Bea Verriest) for the final round in the media center. After a tough final round, Team Shine Bright Like a Diamond pulled out the victory! The winning team members each got candy and a cash prize while the runner-up team members each got candy.
