BHS Unified Soccer Plays Six Games in 2024 Season
The Berkley High School Unified Soccer team played six games this year, finishing their season with two wins, three losses, and one tie. Team coach Mary Martinuzzi shared, “The players have grown so much, increasing their soccer skills, working together as a team, and gaining many friendships!”
One player, Robbie McDowell, always says, “We are the Berkley Bears” during games. All team participants were proud to be Berkley Bears and enjoyed the season.
Unified sports joins people with and without disabilities on the same team. It is dedicated to promoting social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experience. It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding.
