BHS Seniors Receive Over $886,000 in Scholarship Offers During Onsite Admission Day

On October 18, 2024, Berkley High School hosted its third annual Onsite Admission Day for seniors. Twelve Michigan colleges and universities participated in the day: Central Michigan University, Ferris State University, Grand Valley State University, Kettering University, Oakland University, Lawrence Tech, Michigan Tech, Oakland Community College, University of Detroit Mercy, University of Michigan-Dearborn, University of Michigan-Flint and Western Michigan. Admissions representatives for each university met with seniors throughout the morning to review their applications, offer admission and scholarships to students who they thought were a great fit for their school.

Prior to the day, Seniors signed up for workshops with College + Career Counselor Christina Belsky to learn how to apply to the schools, how to prepare for the meeting and what to expect from conversations with college admissions reps. To participate, students had to complete their application for each school and sign up with Ms. Belsky. Student application fees were waived for students who participated during Michigan College Application.

When the day was done, 49 seniors participated in College Admission Day. Those 49 seniors received 94 offers of admission from 12 different universities. In total, the 94 offers included over $886,000 in scholarship offers!
