Michael Ross
Anderson Middle School Principal

Welcome to Anderson Middle School!

It is an honor and privilege to be the Principal at Anderson Middle School.  As someone who grew up in the district attending Burton Elementary, Norup Middle School, and Berkley High School, I have great pride in serving the district that provided me with the foundation and roots for success.  From my perspective there is no better district to both live and work than the Berkley Schools District.  Our district places a heavy emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion, to which we strive to ensure that all students and their families feel valued, respected, and included in both our school and district communities.

I began my educational career during the 1997-98 school year as a mathematics teacher at Detroit Southeastern High School.  In 2001, I had the opportunity to return to the Berkley School District when I was hired as a mathematics teacher at Berkley High School where I served in that role from 2001-2007.  With an interest in expanding the impact I could have on our school, I moved into the role of Assistant Principal in 2007 and served in that role until 2014 at which time, I took over as the Principal at Anderson Middle School.

In now my 11th year as Principal at Anderson, I am proud of the work we have done and continue to do to ensure both the academic success and social emotional well being of our students.  The staff at AMS is second to none and continuously strives to provide an exceptional learning experience for our students.  With the goal of ensuring that there is something for everyone, students leave AMS having a wealth of experiences and opportunities through both their classroom experiences and the extra-curricular opportunities offered.

If at anytime you have questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me via email at michael.ross@berkleyschools.org or by phone at (248) 837-8201.

Thank you for visiting Anderson Middle School!

Sincerely,
