BBB Child Care Stabilization Grant Update
Dear BBB Families,
I have some wonderful news to share with all of you. Recently, BBB was awarded a Child Care Stabilization Grant of nearly $1 Million from the State of Michigan. After working with our Finance Department and after the Board of Education budget approval, I can now share all the details of the spending. The majority of the investments will be in classroom furniture, staff technology, one-time stipends for Lead and Assistant teachers, a change in the salary grid for our staff and a special bonus for all of our families.
Below are the details of the spending plan:

Assistant teacher starting pay will move from $12.36 to $15.15 per hour

Lead teachers starting pay will move from $17.85 to $20 per hour

Staff received bonus payments from this grant as well. Staff members who are on payroll received the following bonuses:

$1,000 for full time staff

$500 for staff who work less than 30 hours per week

Each tuition classroom will receive $10,000 to buy furniture and equipment to enhance their classroom environment

Each lead teacher will receive a new laptop and one iPad for each classroom

Each family will receive a $350 tuition credit for all full-time families. Families who are not full time with us will receive a prorated credit on their March tuition statement.

Because of this infusion of funding from the state, there will be no tuition increases for the 2022-23 school year!
We are so grateful for our staff each and every day and are so happy to be able to give them these well deserved boosts in pay. We are also so greatly appreciative for all our families who have stayed with us through the pandemic, through quarantines and changes in guidelines. We know the tuition credit is a modest thank you, but we hope it makes an impact for you.
